He has written for The New York Times since April 2005, writing for the editorial page from 2011 to 2015, and has authored multiple books. In 2019, he wrote/hosted the podcast series 'The Shrink Next Door' about his former neighbor, psychiatrist Isaac Herschkopf, which was adapted into an Apple TV+ limited series in 2021.
