Moreland started playing football and swimming competitively at the age of six, continuing through high school. Afterward, he joined the U.S. Navy as a rescue swimmer, an experience that allowed him to travel the world. During his time in the Navy, he learned many valuable life lessons that still resonate with him today, particularly the importance of family and maintaining a sense of “home” no matter where he is. He keeps close ties with his family, often reading the same book as his dad and discussing it over FaceTime, or listening to the music his siblings enjoy, staying as connected to them as possible.
